Of Nick Swisher and Legos

Lego just recently moved into their flagship store in Rockefeller Center, and Bubba and I were invited to attend the Grand Opening. I jumped at the chance to check it out both because my son is an avid Duplo fan, and well, mommy wanted to see Nick Swisher in person. Let’s be honest.

Nick Swisher used to play for the Oakland Athletics, who just happen to be “OUR” team from back home. He now plays for the New York Yankees, and came to the Lego opening to lay the first brick of the 16 foot Lego apple they were building outside of the store.

The store itself is huge and really beautiful. It has a wall of Legos, tons of really neat Lego statues, and a computer to print Lego design ideas. It is truly the Lego mecca.

My son, of course, went bonkers in the store. We left with a really cute mini Lego apple which we built during lunch at Pop Burger. I think he may be ready to upgrade to building with actual Legos instead of Duplo.

Overall it was a really fun day… mostly because I could spend some quality time with the little love in my life.
