Bebe au Lait Nursing Covers: Review and Giveaway!
Bebe au Lait is one of those brands that I completely trust. No matter what they come out with, I will be a faithful fan and consumer. I was introduced to the Bebe au Lait nursing cover just before my first baby was born, and it was one of the first things that I bought before I delivered. I knew I wanted to nurse, and I knew I loved the idea behind a stylish, pretty cover for those times when I needed to nurse in public. It turned out to be even more amazing than I expected, when I discovered that I could us it as a sun shade on the stroller, a blanket and even a changing pad in a pinch. As a new mother, there were many times when I needed something that could be multi-purposed, and I soon learned to never, ever leave the house without my “Hooter Hider“.
The nursing covers were invented by mother Claire Ekelund, after her second daughter was born in 2003. She was ” constantly reminded of how difficult it is to gracefully feed a wriggling baby and hold a blanket in position”. And with her second baby, an idea was born. She and her husband Ronnie run the company, and I can tell you from experience that they are truly wonderful people and business owners.
Available in two styles, “Bebe au Lait” and for the edgier crew, the “Hooter Hider“, the nursing covers are 100% Cotton. They are machine washable, have an adjustable D-ring neck strap, and some have a terrycloth pocket detail for quick cleanup or storage of breast pads or pacifiers. I found that even with numerous washes, all of my Bebe au Lait nursing covers have retained their form and vibrant color. They go on like an apron, and there is a large “window” so that mother and baby can keep a clear eye on each other while nursing. Truly, I never even learned how to use a standard blanket for nursing, and I sincerely don’t know how some women do it! It made my life as a new, nursing mother exponentially easier.

The nursing covers are also available in organic, and come with a matching cloth storage case. They range from $35-$40 a piece, and for a limited time Bebe au Lait is offering free shipping on all domestic orders.
