Touring in our Maclaren Twin Triumph
Since having two children 19 months apart, selling our cars and moving to Manhattan, I’ve become quite the stroller connoisseur. I need something that can tote two children plus all of their accoutrement, is easy to push for long distances and compact and light enough to carry down the stairs of the subway while holding a child in the other arm (BONUS: If you look closely in my header photo, you can see that I am doing just that with the Maclaren Twin Triumph!)
So far, I’ve only found one stroller that can do all of these things.
The Maclaren Twin Triumph has quite literally saved the day countless times when I really thought I would have zero options for getting around town. Some days, it’s as crucial as hopping into a taxi to get to our pediatrician as fast as possible. We happen to live in a removed part of the city where often times I have to walk 3 or 4 blocks to simply be able to hail a taxi. We almost always need a stroller.
This means, I have to be able to fold the stroller with one hand and lift it into the trunk of a taxi in basically one foul swoop. The Maclaren Twin Triumph is simple enough to fold, lock and carry in one motion. I can honestly say that I don’t know what I’d do without it.
Handy features of the Maclaren Twin Triumph:
Both seats recline fully, and can hold children from birth.
Carrying weight capacity: 110 lbs (that means, my hefty 4 year old and nearly 3 year old are comfy as can be, and so am I)
Weight of stroller: 23lbs
5 point harness
Comes with weather cover
Waterproof, individual hoods
Food brakes
Washable Seats
This is the stroller that we primarily use for our flights across country, when we need to get through security and to our gate as fast as possible. This stroller fits nicely onto the security belt and goes through the check like a regular bag. We then check the stroller at the gate and it’s there when we step off of the plane. Being that I generally travel solo with the kids, I absolutely need something that I can manage as easy as possible.
I have only great things to say about the Maclaren Twin Triumph. This particular stroller retails for roughly $240, and can be used for two children up to 4 or 5 years old, depending on the weight. Totally worth the extra cash for a stroller that will last from birth until the child is out of a stroller entirely!

I was given a Maclaren Twin Triumph for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
Awesome-is there a bev holder available?
so i wanna know, do you have a separate apartment to keep all these lovely strollers? π
this stroller does sound fabulous, especially for the sticker price! great pictures too, Zoe and Jack are so so cute!
I LOVE my Maclaren Twin Triumph!
Just wondering if you’ve taken this stroller traveling since they changed the regulations. I was going to buy this twin stroller for a trip in December but read that you can no longer check strollers over 20 pounds.
I live in a big city and currently have the Bugaboo Donkey (duo). Although it’s great, I still find I am limited on what I can do. A large part of that is because I have 2 small kids 16months apart and not because of the stroller! π
Just wondering if you think the Triumph is worth having in addition to the Donkey or if that makes no sense?
My reasoning would be for big shops/trunk space as well as travel. I currently own a Maclaren Quest which we got before baby#2. So the question is, do we get another single or get a double? Thoughts?
First, those pictures are amazing – the ease of which you are taking it down the stairs w/ baby in hand alone has convinced me to get one. I live in Queens, so our streets/doorways are much narrower than in the City – Im just hoping it will fit through the doorway of our apartment!
Secondly, I will be traveling with it next month. Any advice on a travel or storage bag that could be used to protect it while they stow it away in cargo?
and lastly, how you go about getting selected to test these products for review? do you have to be an established blogger?
just want to say thanks for this review! i have an 8 week old and a 2 year old and live in a walkup, where I need to carry the stroller up to my apartment every time we leave and come home. i was trying to figure out which stroller would work and i was considering the triumph – this review sealed the deal. i need easy peasy. how does anyone get around with 2 kids without it? thanks again!
