Cookies for Cancer Benefit UPDATE
For a couple of weeks, I’ve been sitting on some pretty incredible information. As I mentioned in two previous posts, I’ve put together a benefit for Cookies for Cancer to raise money for pediatric cancer research.
A little while back, I had a very moving conversation with Tracey Stewart while we ate and created projects at her lovely establishment, Moomah Cafe. After talking with her and sharing a tear or two over the story behind the cause, she graciously and emphatically agreed to host this important fundraiser.
You can only imagine my elation.
Melissa Chapman of Staten Island Family and Karen Connell of A Child Grows In Brooklyn have invested a great deal of their time and energy to this benefit as well, and I cannot tell you how totally grateful I am. This wouldn’t be happening without their help.
Since we’ve secured the venue, the sponsors have come flying in.
The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park has donated a full spa day, Rosie Pope (star of Bravo’s Pregnant in Heels) has jumped on board, while Oeuf has contributed one of their new Perch bunk beds, Tali Gilette has sent over one of her famous Mama necklaces, and Britax has donated a B-Ready stroller.
Appaman, Maclaren, Patemm, iCandy, Schwinn, Bellamy Blue Photography, Corolle, Tommee Tippee and Giggle have all donated incredibly generously as well. I’m just so excited and humbled at everyone that has offered to participate… its a pretty amazing feeling.
Our main goal of the benefit is to raise money for Cookies for Cancer and pediatric cancer research, while also spreading the word about this fantastic foundation. I’m so totally impressed by every single one of you that has volunteered to either help me or hold your own bake sale in your area (of which there are many).
