Britax Baby Carrier: Review and Giveaway

I’m a huge proponent of baby wearing, but my obsession with it didn’t start until Zoe was born and I was also chasing after an active 19 month old. Wearing Zoe on me changed my life for the better in so many ways… I cannot even fathom how I would have survived the first few months without a trusted carrier at all. She immediately fell asleep for hours until it was time to nurse again, and I was able to have both arms available for playing with Jack, picking up toys, and preparing snacks. Game changer.

There are so many carriers to choose from, each with their own features and carrying positions. I believe that it’s a personal choice based on comfort level- and like my stroller obsession, I definitely have tried most of them. My needs have changed since moving to New York City, as I’ll need to have the baby in front of me at all times as he grows older. With Zoe and Jack, I was comfortable transitioning them to my back for long walks but I certainly won’t be doing that for subway travel. Different lifestyles, different needs.

One thing we all must have, however, is comfort for both the baby wearer and the wellness of the child. We all stick with the brands that we know and trust, and so the new release of Britax’s new Baby Carrier comes as a welcomed surprise. I had the opportunity to see and test it out personally, and I’m very excited.

For those of you (and I) concerned about the weight placed on the baby’s hips and pelvic area, Britax offers seat extenders so that the weight is more evenly distributed. There are, however, no studies showing inflicted harm of any kind upon the baby from carriers where the baby is “dangling”.

I personally found the carrier to be one of the easiest to load the baby into and out of, and was the easiest to adjust with baby in it. This is a big deal-especially when you’re on your own and/or have other children to tend to.
