Baby Shower Gift Guide: Day 2, GEAR

You all know by now that I’ve had a bit of a fixation on strollers since moving to New York City with two little children. I’ve documented my Stroller Obsession thoroughly in my quest to find the “perfect” stroller-for city life or otherwise, and ultimately have learned that truly- there isn’t a single perfect stroller. There are a few that stand out as my favorites, however, and Britax is right there at the top of my list.
In terms of functionality, ease of use, quality and price point-Britax always gets an “A”. Their strollers and travel products are built for the long haul, yet look sleek and maintain quality through years of use. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Britax since we purchased our first Chaperone for Jack in 2007. You can find my reviews of the B-Ready and Britax Baby Carrier by following the emboldened links.
The Britax B-Agile is an excellent stroller for a singleton from birth until 55lbs. It steers like a dream, collapses with a one-hand fold, is super lightweight and has a ton of storage. This is a stroller that I can easily toss into the back of a cab at the last minute if needed and can store in my teeny and cramped coat-closet. By all accounts this stroller meets every need.
Travel System Compatible with other major infant car seat brands, including Graco, Chicco, and Peg Perego, when used with BRITAX infant car seat adapter (sold separately)
Lightweight aluminum frame (16.5 lbs total weight)
No re-thread, adjustable, five-point harness and head pad with reflective binding
Infinite seat recline positions
Large under seat storage and additional pocket with zipper
Linked parking brake locks both rear wheels
Three-wheel design provides improved steering and maneuverability
All-Wheel Suspension provides for a smooth ride
Large canopy with ventilation window
Included Accessories: BRITAX CLICK & GO infant car seat receivers
The one issue I’ve always tended to have with infant car-seats is their weight (and I don’t like strapping tiny babies into them, but that’s non-negotiable!). The B-Safe is light weight and has enough padding and support to secure a baby without being bulky or fussy, and installing it either in the stroller or the car is really simple. The straps are very easy to adjust and the five point harness is tangle free. Our B-Safe is ready and sitting at the door to take to the hospital and I’m not dreading bring a baby home in it!
Energy-Absorbing Foam Liner absorbs and distributes crash forces
Four Harness Heights and Two Buckle Positions for your growing child
Removable Comfort Pillow, shoulder pads, and belly pad provide extra comfort
Stroller Compatible Design Integrated CLICK & GO adapter system works with BRITAX B-Series strollers.
Lightweight and travel-friendly for vehicle and stroller compatibility
Adjustable Base has five positions for proper seat angle and positioning
30-pound Weight Capacity for safety and comfort through the first years
Ergonomic Carry-Handle designed to contour to forearm to allow for more comfortable carrying of child in car seat
Premium Lower LATCH Connectors for a quick and simple installation featuring a push button for easy release
Built-in Lock-Offs ensure a snug lap and shoulder belt installation with minimal effort
Front Harness Adjuster provides effortless front adjustment when loosening the harness system
Easy-to-Read Level Indicators provide quick reference for proper angle of recline
Easy-to-Install Seat-to-Base Design self-guides car seat into proper locked position
Easy-to-Install Base with LATCH Connector Storage (Included)
Certified for Aircraft Travel
It is also easily compatible with the B-Ready, as I tested out.
Baby wearing has been ultra crucial and important to me since the birth of my second child. I know that this third baby will spend a great deal of time simply snuggled right on me, and I need to make sure that I have a hands-free carrier option for life with two older children as well. This carrier makes it easy to insert and remove the baby, plus it offers seat-extenders for those parents worried about pelvic pressure and hip constraints from “dangling”. You can read my full review HERE.
One-Handed Buckles and Snaps allow you to get your child in and out of the carrier easily
Harness Straps adjust from front of carrier for proper customized fit
Easy-Adjust Waist Belt accommodates 22 inches to 56 inches for the perfect fit
Excess Belt Storage Bands eliminate loose straps
Machine Washable for easy cleaning
100% Cotton Machine Washable Bib (included) protects carrier from stains
Adjustable Head Support provides head and neck stability for younger infants
Leg Loops reduce the size of leg openings for 8-11 pound infants for secure fit
Secure Harness and Pouch Design ensures that baby will stay securely within the carrier
LeSportSac JOYRICH Medium Weekender: The Non-Diaper Bag
This time around, I have sworn off the traditional diaper bag and gone with a style thats a little less cumbersome, a little more stylish and something that I’d be happy to carry even when I don’t have a baby in tow. LeSportsac bags are known for being lightweight, easy to clean and hip.
Features:
Zipped main closure, Front and back pockets with zipped closures, Two side pockets with zipped closures, Adjustable/detachable shoulder strap, Joyrich triangle logo plate detail, Joyrich embossed coin charm.
LeSportsac offeres a full line of baby travel items as well (many accessories that I will use in all kinds of different bags and purses.
WIN IT!

Light and wheels!!
The most important thing for me is safety. I love Britax car seats. While they are bulky, I am confident that my children will remain safe in the event of an accident. I actually have a friend that got T-boned in the middle of winter here in Idaho. Her kids only sustained minor scratches despite the metal of the vehicle being forced around the car seats. The sheriff officer said he was convinced that they would have died if they had been in cheaper/ lesser quality seats. This speaks volumes as to the quality of these seats. Love them.

I think a lightweight stroller that actually has storage is essential to travel.

There are several factors I’m looking for this time around.
-Ease of use- I have 2 kids and I want to be able to set up the baby quickly and easy while keeping my older son occupied.
-Safety- Big one for me! My kids are the most important things I have in this life!
-Pretty factor- I’m just a big girl at heart and love beautiful things!

Another bonus for me is the stroller’s canopy. It makes sleeping easier on the go, with either a toddler or a small baby. The canopy physically folds down much further than most strollers I’ve seen on the market! You can’t beat that.

I love all things Britax. Safety is number one when traveling with baby, and you can’t beat Britax in that regard! Easy and functionality run a close second and everything I’ve tried from Britax certainly fits the bill! I would love to win a Britax goody!
Most important to me is saftey and ease of use while traveling
And holding hands:)
Safety, ease of use and doesn’t take up a lot of room in the car.
I would really like a stroller that is light weight and not too big so that I can fit through the aisles in a store while shopping.

I feel like a professional momma traveler at this point…my next challenge is traveling alone with 2! I’ve traveled cross country with a baby and carry on dog many times and plan on doing it when #2 arrives. A car seat that is safe and fits well with an easy to collapse stroller is essential for travel and the Britax seat was my choice this time around for it’s superior safety ratings. I like the storage and that the seat on the stroller is big enough for my older son. Being a city dweller I sold everything from my first son because there was no where to store it for 2 years that didn’t cost a fortune so we’re stuck with buying everything all over again and no baby shower this time to help! We’d love to win the car seat or stroller. Luckily, I already received a Britax carrier at the BCM Baby shower.

as much as I like my things to look good they must be practical. Strollers must be comfortable for the baby and for the pusher, it must have some storage and fold decently and push well. A carseat has to be top rated in safety and easy to properly restrain. A diaper bag, well that just has to look good any bag that can hold things is good for baby.

When it comes to baby gear, the most important aspects I look for are: easy to use (for anyone), simple and modern design (but practical: for example it doesn’t take up a lot of space), and affordable.
p.s. I did all 3. 😉
The main things I look for are: safety, how it fits in confined spaces and ease of use.

My gear must have enough room to store everything for a baby on-the-go. That means a large (trendy) diaper bag and a stroller with a large basket.
First and foremost it has to be safe for my daughter to ride in. Obviously a no brainer. Next is design. They always say that first impressions are important. If I like what I see, then I get it. Third has to be the canopy. I’m very careful about how much sun exposure my baby girl gets. I love how the B-Agile has a huge canopy. One of my favorite features of the stroller.

The most important aspects of traveling gear for me and my children are ease of use and light weight. No fun to be lugging around heavy gear when traveling.
I feel like the most important feature for traveling is weight. There’s nothing like making your way through a crowded airport with a stroller, car seat, diaper bag and two small kids in tow. Its made easier by having a light weight stroller/car seat combo like the B-safe and B-agile for sure.
