Baby Shower Gift Guide: Day 4, Nursery
Well, we paused the Baby Shower Gift Guide to celebrate the arrival of a certain beauiful boy. Introducing Day 4: All Things Nursery!
Day 5 will be up on Monday morning. All deadlines for entry will still be on Friday, December 16th.
Maclaren: David Netto Nursery Designed Crib Bedding
Once I find a brand that I love and trust, I will follow them to the ends of their creative expertise by trying everything they have to offer. Maclaren has continued to impress me in terms of safety, design and quality.
This year, Maclaren launched their NettoCollection Linen Line full of beautiful lines and gorgeous hues. (I interviewed David about the collection HERE).
Once I tried them out in my own home and washed them a couple of times, I can honestly say that the quality is just as divine as the style. I love the way it looks sweet with a modern edge and maintains it’s form even after a few wash and wears.
Coral Jade Crib Set
The Bedding fits all Maclaren Nursery cribs as well as other cribs that use industry standard size mattresses
Each Set Contains
2 Fitted Crib Sheets
1 Reversible Bumper
1 Crib Skirt:
1 Reusable Duffle Bag
Special bonus: The design isn’t baby-ish at all, and will grow with the child into toddlerhood. I plan on using this set until our youngest graduates to a Twin size bed.
We bought our first SwaddleDesigns blanket for Jack in 2007 after struggling with a gazillion other blankets that were either too soft, too small, too rectangle or too stretchy. Our sleep was spotty at best during those first few months, and we were getting to the point of hiring a sleep coach for our new baby. Once we found and tried the SwaddleDesigns blanket, all of that changed. Of course things weren’t TOTALLY perfect, but Jack was so much more content being securely wrapped up. We bought one for Zoe as well, and have one waiting for our newest addition. Both Jack and Zoe still sleep with their blankets, long after either of them have been swaddled. THey are such soft and cozy blankets, I almost need one for my OWN self.
SwaddleDesigns Ultimate Receiving Blanket is large, square, lightweight and breathable (42 x 42 inches). It is made from super soft, premium, preshrunk cotton flannel.
Cotton Flannel is the #1 Choice in US hospitals for swaddling.

Easy to follow swaddling instructions sewn on the edge of the blankets
Designed by a nurse and winner of multiple awards
I’m not a design guru. I really don’t have what it takes to put together a room nicely and the way that I envision it. Throw me into a closet full of clothes and I’ll come out with something fantastic, but interior design is not my forte.
I do know what I like when I see it though, and Sam Simon‘s paintings are sweet perfection. They are gorgeous in both modern and more classically designed rooms, and each one of them looks and feels original and special.
Sam Simon is a NYC artist and designer. He creates beautiful murals and paintings on canvas for homes and businesses. Sam’s work is known for the tiny details. Each piece is carefully hand painted on top of an archival print on canvas. Individually signed and numbered by Sam Simon – each one is unique. They arrive ready to hang, canvas stretched over pine bars. Made in the USA with love and style and detailed with swarovski crystals.
WIN IT!
I’m thrilled to be able to give away some products from each of these fabulous brands:
*One Maclaren NettoCollection Crib Set
*One SwaddleDesigns Swaddle Duo Set
*One 12″ Sam Simon Peacock Painting

I was not compensated for this post. I did receive product from Maclaren and SwaddleDesigns for purposes of review, coverage, and giveaway. I hand picked each brand and all opinions are absolutely my own.
I decorated my nursery for my son in a sheep and lambs theme to remind me of my home country (New Zealand). With this baby we haven’t decorated yet as we are moving in a few months time so we will get to meet baby and find out gender and everything before we decide on the decor 🙂
(and baby will sleep in our room for the first few months anyway)

We designed our first son’s nursery with a baby blue/brown/tan color pantone. The main theme was giraffes. It ended up looking super cute. With my second, he just got the hand me down…and we bought my first a new “big boy” bed set and new bedding and all (bedding in a all things that go theme). Would love to win this so I can re-do baby boy’s room! nlevdan3 at yahoo dot com

I get to help my sister design her very first nursery. There are so many choices available now then ever before. It’s difficult to narrow down to a style but simple is best.

I’m due in April in haven’t started ANY baby shopping yet! I am planning a grey and yellow nursery:)
I simply worked with what we have. We are medical residents, so we are still in debt land. I had a cute wooden bookshelf and bed from when I was a kid, used pictures I took, and made a fun banner. Thanks!
I plan to do Panda’s with bright green highlights. But I’m sure this could change once I actually get pregnant and find out the gender. 🙂
Congratulations BTW!!!!
I designed G’s room with brown and pink from Restoration Hardware baby and child. Love it!

We are expecting our first baby (a girl!) in March and I plan to design her nursery around a “shabby-chic” theme. I think its the easiest way to incorporate many different colors, patterns, and textures!
Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway!

I didn’t really “design” our nursery. Gave it a fresh coat of paint and some wall hangings that were gender neutral and called it a day. Simple and inexpensive.
Thanks for the chance!

We designed our nursery with bright, fun colors and not a specific theme. I wanted something that would grow with our son and it has. Now he shares that same room with his baby sister!

We never had a nursery, our baby roomed in with us. But we are designing our kids’ room right now and since I am an Interior Designer by profession, it just kind of happens. I picked the colors and when I see something that will go great in the room, I buy it and gradually finish it. I’m all for modern, I don’t like pink, babyish stuff, or something that is too childish, I like a room that grows with the kids. They are little for such a short time!

I’m afraid that I didn’t get the chance to design a nursery with my current baby. She’s our fourth, and currently shares a room with us. Eventually she’ll move in with her big sister.

As soon as I find the perfect bedding, I plan to decorate according to it. I’m having a girl, so I would love to do a paisley design in pink and green. Plus I want a great chandelier or lanterns hanging from the ceiling!

Centerpieces from Twin Baby Shower is the nursery wall decor. Used nine sepia tones prints of storks carrying twins, double matted on assorted pink printed scrapbook papers in antique gold frames. Places on silver gray painted wall in a three by three picture configuration. Gorgeous!

I planned my nursery around neutral furniture and primary colors(so I could reuse it for future babies whether they be boys or girls). I love vintage so I turned it into a “Dick and Jane” type room with classic vintage toys, color, etc… I love how it turned out! I love being in it and that is important when creating a room!

Originally we designed our nursery around the theme of “The Cow Jumped Over the Moon.” But now we have the crib in our room because the nursery has become the “boys” room. So a new crib set to set the mood in the little “nook” where the crib is would be FANTASTIC!

I designed my nursery using classic cherry wood furniture, pale green and cream walls, and splashes of vibrant color in unexpected places.
i’m holding off to design baby #3’s nursery due to the fact we are hoping to be moving by then. but audrey was “pink, yellow, and brown” and naomi was just vintage, whimisical. i don’t like things too themey. 🙂
