Charitable Giving with Hickory Farms

We all learned important lessons the last couple of months. Leading up to the holidays, Hurricane Sandy made it more obvious than ever that we should do anything we can to help each other whenever possible. Giving to our loved ones is wonderful, but there is a deeper gratification in helping someone who is in need of the things that many of us take for granted.
Hickory Farms is a very popular gift choice for anyone and everyone looking to bestow something lovely to someone else: A family member, a business partner, a teacher, or for a friend. What makes giving with Hickory Farms even better is the ways they have teamed up with non-profit organizations to also help those in need at the same time.
Charitable Giving
Hickory Farms has a partnership with Share Our Strength (SOS) – a leading national nonprofit organization that works to stamp out childhood hunger. For each Party Planner gift box sold this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. To date, Hickory Farms and it’s customers have donated $1.9 million dollars.
Hickory Farms also has a partnership with Operation Gratitude – a national nonprofit that creates care packages for military men and women and their families. Hickory Farms has eight products that they offer free shipping to military APO and FPO addresses, including the “Home for the Holidays” gift basket.
For me, if there is a donation to any charity that goes along with my purchase, I am so much more likely to seek that option out and use it every time. It’s so easy for me that it goes without a second thought. When there is the opportunity to contribute, I do. I appreciate companies that team up to donate to those in need, especially during the holidays. It’s a win/win in my book.
For more than 60 years Hickory Farms has been providing beautifully arranged baskets and gifts full of great cheeses, sausage, crackers and other goodies. Their Hickory Signature Summer Sausage was recently rated the #1 Summer Sausage in America, winning the Masters of Taste Gold Medal for Superior Taste, in 2011. Their baskets are ones that we look forward to giving-and receiving-during the holidays and any time of year.
