Disney Room Makeover (spon)

We have a really fantastic surprise brewing for our children. When we moved to New York City for dental school, we had planned to take our family to Disney World as a treat for all of us to celebrate my husband’s graduation success. None of us have ever been, so when I was invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Conference next month-the day after Justin graduates-I was completely beside myself with happiness.

Not long after the Disney World excitement, a new campaign came up for Glidden’s new Disney Paint sold exclusively at Walmart. We thought it would be such a fun treat to paint a wall in the kid’s room and do a mini Disney makeover as a part of their Disney World surprise.

A couple of weekends ago, we were invited to a friend’s birthday party in New Jersey, so we decided to stop at a Walmart on our way. I’ve never bought paint OR been to a Walmart, so this was a pretty big day for me.

The trip itself was quick and successful. While I couldn’t find anyone to help direct me to the home improvement section, the signage around the store was massive and helpful. Jack and I found our way to the Glidden Disney Paint section within minutes of walking into the store.

Jack and I chose the Great Slate chalkboard paint and Ready Set Glow-a glow in the dark paint. With three children and two beds crammed into a tiny room, our wall space is limited. We decided to paint the closets/wall at the entry way and has the most unobstructed painting and viewing space.

Fortunately, Justin’s schedule is really easing up now that he’s basically finished all of his exams-giving him just enough time to get handy and crafty in the kid’s room! He’s actually really great at that stuff, so I really can’t wait to see how it turns out. Even though we’re moving soon, this is something I would consider for our new home too-it’s a great test run.

Some details about Glidden’s Disney Paint:

*Disney Paint is a new line of paints available only at Walmart with 112 exclusive colors and five innovative specialty finishes available that are easy to use and apply.

*Premium-quality, ultra-durable paint that was formulated to withstand wear and tear, as well as repeated scrubs and washes. Scuffs, crayon and pencil marks, little finger prints, and tough stains such as grape juice, wash off easily without removing the magical color.

*Low odor and has no VOCs.

*Some colors are designed to complement not only each other but also Walmart’s Disney bedding and Disney room accessories, such as furniture, toys and décor options, sold in store or online.

I’m excited to see how it turns out and the kid’s reactions, especially as it will perfectly lead up to our trip to Disney World!
