All Aboard
Parenting is as parenting does, and as the saying goes, “if you can do it in New York City, you can do it anywhere”. I lived that very honest reality raising kids in Manhattan; living in a little apartment, taking public transportation with babies, buying only what we could carry and learning how to move with the current instead of against it in so many ways. There is so much that I learned to endure through circumstance and how to adjust during any and every situation that I felt as though I was prepared for pretty much anything. Even still, each and every time I’ve brought my children to an amusement park, those words rang clear as a bell in my head and yet I was still nervous about being under prepared, or under packed. With all of the elements taking place; weather, finances, mealtime logistics, gear, accessories, siblings and endless stimulation, anything could happen and it probably would.
Theme parks with four children under eight in tow feels like the absolute parenting olympics. Going into our first trip to Disney World, I did a lot of research on what to bring and how to plan. We made a list of our top destinations, which rides we all wanted to go on the most and what times of the day we’d be there. It’s a science, really, and one that I can’t say we’ve got all that figured out, but I do know that for the time we were in the parks we were absolutely prepared. Walking around Disney World or Disneyland with four children-an infant included-meant that we needed options for travel. Any situation involving a stroller should be equipped for ease of use, plenty of storage and various different options for, well, anything. As a family and new parents to both Beau as our third in New York City and Evangeline, our fourth baby and now living in California, we have loved the OrbitBaby Travel System in just about every place and situation that we have come across. It was a really nice surprise seeing the OrbitBaby is now available at Target and a part of the growing Target Baby family of brands that we trust, housed in one place.
We are all fortunate that Justin is as hands-on as he is as their daddy, and for me in these moments when he is more than happy to be strollin’ around with the kids in a theme park, pushing (up to) three kids on one stroller for hours. It’s nice for me to have a little freedom to spend with Evvie and the extra arms to capture the moments with my larger camera that requires two hands, often. I really just love seeing him with the kids; he was born to be a father and it shows in everything he does.
Disneyland and Disney World were completely manageable with the OrbitBaby. The storage underneath the seat, the sun shade equipped with UV protection, the cup holders, the quick one-handed collapse and especially the Sidekicks stroller boards that the big kids could ride on made for quick-zipping around the parks, just like we used to navigate the congested city streets in Manhattan. We were prepared for hot days and had sweaters, snacks and sunscreen stored in the G3 Cargo Basket underneath. The stroller seat and frame are lightweight enough to bring easily onto the plane to gate check, making it that much more comfortable to push around for hours on end as well.
We’ve been in our fair share of different challenging and equally as fun and exhausting circumstances with all of our children in all different areas of the country, and in all of those times I have been truly more than grateful for our OrbitBaby stroller, making some of the most complicated times easier logistically. I absolutely appreciate being able to head to our local Target to stock up on travel items of all kinds and knowing that our OrbitBaby is also one of the brand we can turn to Target to find.
