We’ve spent a lot of time at home this summer. Five kids, five schedules, five different personalities, temperaments, likes and dislikes. It’s challenging to try to make sure everyone is peaceful, content and happy-and at the same time-is more of a feat than even I realize most days. We are so very limited with the number of summers that we get though, and though the days can be long sometimes, I am grateful for each unplanned or unmanaged moment with my husband and my children. We teamed up with Breyers this summer to celebrate these simple, unplanned moments with scoops of delicious Natural Vanilla ice cream.
It’s been sweltering in the Bay Area, so the days often feel extra long. We spend most of our time either at our local pool with friends, or we invite some over to splash in our jumpy-slide until the sun goes down. BBQing is a favorite, but mostly we just like to be together. Lately one of our favorite traditions is to set up an ice cream sundae bar with Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and a couple bowls of toppings like granola and fresh fruit. Each of us genuinely loves ice cream, and building their own sundaes is a really fun and naturally yummy treat. Breyers Natural Vanilla has been a favorite of mine since childhood, the vanilla bean flecks and flavor are so nostalgic for me. I love sharing things with my children that are things that I clearly remember enjoying as a child with my family. Even better that it’s non-GMO and made with fresh cream, sugar and milk.
Sunday Sundaes are something that all of us not only agree on, but all of us truly love, too. That makes it an often really entertaining night with everyone in good moods and being silly with their treats. Breyers Natural Vanilla is made from naturally sourced flavors and colors and sustainably farmed vanilla beans from Madagascar. Though ice cream is an easy crowd pleaser, it’s important to me to buy the kind that we’ve loved for many years, but from a brand whose values align with my own. There’s nothing more important than making fond memories together as a family, and these are some that I’ll hold near and dear in my heart right next to my own childhood memories.
