We’ve spent a lot of time at home this summer. Five kids, five schedules, five different personalities, temperaments, likes and dislikes. It’s challenging to try to make sure everyone is peaceful, content and happy-and at the same time-is more of a feat than even I realize most days. We are so very limited with the number of summers that we get though, and though the days can be long sometimes, I am grateful for each unplanned or unmanaged moment with my husband and my children. We teamed up with Breyers this summer to celebrate these simple, unplanned moments with scoops of delicious Natural Vanilla ice cream.

It’s been sweltering in the Bay Area, so the days often feel extra long. We spend most of our time either at our local pool with friends, or we invite some over to splash in our jumpy-slide until the sun goes down. BBQing is a favorite, but mostly we just like to be together. Each of us genuinely loves ice cream, and building their own sundaes is a really fun and naturally yummy treat.
