It’s no secret that I have a thing for strollers. I happen to also have a penchant for funky, cool, pretty, useful things.

When the Micralite Fastfold Super-lite arrived from Scandinavian Child at our home, I was very excited. It encompasses everything that I love in a stroller.

My children also have a thing for pretty strollers (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree). The only downfall is that they fight incessantly over who gets to ride in it.
How parent's "park" in Manhattan
It’s edgy, it’s super lightweight, and it folds in a compact, standing position.
In full extended position, riding in back of a taxi cab
It is the lightest stroller, with the easiest drive that I have found. One hand steering, easy turning, huge wheels in back for uneven pavement or even grass or sand, and is narrow enough to fit through most aisles here in the city. It is fantastic.
Key Features of the Micralite Superlite Fastfold:
2 position seat
Lightweight aluminium frame (roughly 13 lbs)
Unique one handed fold
Extremely manoeuvrable
Pneumatic tyres
Under seat shopping basket
Adjustable handlebars
Waterproof 300D woven fabric
with TPE coating
Raincover included
Wheel pump included
The mesh seat can be removed and replaced with an infant car seat(the Maxi Cosi Cabrio) to be used from birth.
Both of my children ages 3.5 and 22 months fit snugly and comfortably in the seat. The breathable mesh, decent sized canopy and two-position seat make for a very nice, smooth ride.

I’m a big fan of the one-handed fold as well. It makes for getting down the subway and in to a taxi cab or bus very easy with two toddlers.
This is our go-to stroller for quick trips zipping around the city-especially when using public transportation-but I would definitley recommend the Micralite Fastfold Super-Lite for an every day stroller.
A little more incentive:
Scandinavian Child was generous enough to provide my readers with a 20% off discount code to be used in their online store through September 24th, 2010.

Scandinavian Child is a fantastic company whose focus is “design without compromise”, where you can find brand names like Svan of Sweden. Beaba, Lillebaby, Cariboo and Anka. I highly recommend checking out their website.

You all probably know this by now, but I have a small issue. Since moving to Manhattan I have become completely obsessed with strollers. You see, our strollers here in the city are like our “cars”. They are our mode of transportation, and they must be fantastic. They need to feel luxurious without the leather or fancy rims, and drive like a Range Rover over the uneven pavement. They must accommodate my coffee, a diaper bag, two bags of groceries, the Potette Potty, a Mini Kick Razor Scooter, two toddlers and at least a couple of toys. I’m not kidding. This is a typical day for us.
I’ve been on my quest now for a year to find the perfect city stroller. I’ve found myself stranded in the rain pumping flat tires, stuck in the snow with wheels that were too small, unable to get into grocery stores (size), and mending ripped seats.
When the Britax B-Ready arrived at my apartment, I was over the moon. I was more excited about this stroller than I was on Christmas morning, and it’s surpassed my expectations. It’s been a dream to have around the city.
As soon as I got it assembled, I took the kids out for a spin to the farmer’s market. They both promptly fell asleep at 10:30AM (usually they nap at 1:00PM).

I love that it’s in-line, I don’t have to worry about flat tires, both kids are very comfortable in the large seats, they can both sleep comfortably and I can carry all my gear and STILL push with one hand.

It weighs roughly 26 lbs with one seat and no canopy, while the second seat weighs 7 lbs. It’s a little heavy to carry up and down the subway steps but it didn’t stop me. If it works in the city, you can pretty much bet that it will work most other places.
We started our family with Britax car seats and strollers and it’s absolutely a go-to, trustworthy brand. I have been thrilled with the performance of the Britax B-Ready.

- Large storage space with zipper openings on all sides
