Traveling with the Orbit and a G2 Giveaway!

The thing about being a parent is we tend to share our secrets. In our tight circles with friends, it’s easy to discuss what has and hasn’t worked for us in terms of products, activities and other parenting trials. Out in public with strangers though, I’m always careful to not offer advise unless it’s requested or the atmosphere is welcoming it. I’m almost always vocal about strollers especially because it’s pretty crucial to have one that will be as helpful and easy to use as possible. They are here to HELP us, and when I find one that makes my life easier with three children, I’ll shout it from the rooftops.

The Orbit G2 is one of those strollers. I’ve fully reviewed the Orbit G2 HERE, but since then I was able to take the entire travel system with us on our trip to California, and it’s worth sharing our experience.

We brought both seats with us because we ride in a town car or taxi on our way to the airport and needed the infant seat for car travel while on vacation. The beauty of the Orbit system is their interchangeable seats-they swivel and attach to the base and are very easy to remove & carry. We got through security easily, and gate checked the frame with the Sidekick attached and both seats seamlessly.

Once in California, we used the toddler seat mostly when out and about and kept the infant seat installed in the cars. The 360 rotating ability came in handy at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and at the beach house when I didn’t have a high chair for feeding Beau. This swivel feature has come in handy out at dinner as well. I can’t say enough about the handiness of this stroller!

The infant seat is one of the best out there (hence all the celebs you see toting it around!). It is shaped sort of like a bucket and comes with it’s own “Paparazzi Shield”, so no more blankets blowing away when trying to hide the sun and stroll at the same time.

Travel with children isn’t easy, especially with children. The ease of flying with the Orbit G2, along with it’s environmentally friendly materials made it an easy mention on my “must have” items for my Honest Travel column on The Honest Company blog.

New Addition: The Double Helix

Orbit recently launched their multiple seat option, a frame for the seats called the Double Helix. The frame itself features two swivel bases with all of the capabilities of the regular Orbit base as well as a large storage basket and a ShadePad-a place to store an iPad/tablet. For those owners of an Orbit system already can purchase the Helix Plus Kit for $350, which attaches onto the standard Orbit frame.

Naturally, I can’t wait to get my hands on this Helix Plus Kit. Zoe, while she is a little older for sitting in strollers, really needs a place to sit when we’re hustling to and from school, ballet, and basketball. Plus, I love that the second seat is an option rather than a must. It’s nice to have products in our life that are flexible and change as our family’s needs change.

Now, what you’ve been waiting for: GIVEAWAY!

My apologies for not posting the winner yesterday. Thank you to all who entered! Huge congratulations to Lisa Pimentel, who was chosen completely randomly (which is, for the record, the only way I can make absolutely sure the contest is fair) via And The Winner Is, a WP Plug-In.

I was not compensated for this post, however I was given an Orbit Travel System for purposes of this review, and one to give away. All opinions are my own.
