Turning Five in Style *Giveaway*

Clothes are a really, really big deal to Zoe. Most mornings, she bounds down the stairs glammed up in her frock of choice, her smile beaming brighter than any sparkle she could possibly adorn. I am more than willing to let her wear her princess dresses wherever she wants to aside from school or church. This means she’s been to a bookstore downtown in Cinderella’s wedding gown, on 5th Avenue as Belle, and on the beach in the sand as Ariel. I don’t limit where and when she wears her “nice” dresses, and I rarely intervene when she changes more than 5 times a day. She will only be little, carefree, and uninhibited for these beautiful and painfully short moments. Feed the magic: My number one parenting goal.

Her fifth birthday was not going to be outdone. I teamed up with a handful of our favorite clothing designers and boutiques to create the perfectly glamorous and fancy day for Zoe-and we all had an absolute blast. The “birthday fairy” gifted her with a brand new Darcy Brown Fairycake dress from Fawn Shoppe, and left it sitting on her vanity waiting for her first smile on the first moments of her fifth year.

She came down the stairs absolutely beaming from ear to ear. She wore this dress to school and afterwards, until it was time for dress surprise #2, just in time for her birthday dinner out with family.

Tutu Du Monde makes dresses that are like fairy tales come to life for little girls. They are exquisitely beautiful, yet they all have a sweetness to them as well. She literally pranced around the entire evening in this dress; I dare say she had more fun doing that than opening her gifts later on in the evening.

Part of these gifts included two more dresses: One more from Fawn Shoppe and one from another all-time favorite: Stella Industries, a red Starlet Sparkle dress that would be perfect for her birthday celebration with her friends that weekend.

The last Starlit dress that we had lasted her nearly two full years. The fit is roomy and with ample neck and arm room, it gives a long life to a beautiful dress. Zoe wore hers every chance she got, and is doing the same with this one. The quality is exceptional and it’s simple to wash and care for.

Finally, Zoe’s Stella McCartney Misty dress, also from Fawn Shoppe, is one that is the most versatile. It is charmingly lovely, with a pale dusty pink tone, embroidered bow appliquΓ©s and even a bit of tulle. She’s worn this dress to school, the beach, out to dinner, and to the farmer’s market. The cotton lining makes it soft, breathable and easy to wash.

I am a most willing participant in this daily dazzle of having a little girl. I’ve followed her lead in all of this (admittedly enabling an early fashion addiction), and love to see her dance around feeling fancy and confidant. The best part in all of this, is these are only ornamental-her truest beauty is always without need for any accoutrements.
