Gratitude

Being in New York City with my family during Thanksgiving couldn’t be any more poignant for me.

We’re eating at crowded diners and dear friend’s homes.

We’re walking and scootering all over the city, running into nearly everyone we know on the streets, from dear friends to acquaintances, some of them strangers that feel like old friends. That’s NYC for you in a nutshell.

I’m grateful to be piled on top of each other in the airplanes and subways and in our little hotel room. These years are so fleeting, there’s no telling how many more like this we have.

And in between the craziness of life as a family of six, the most jaw-dropping beautiful moments happen.

… and I know we’re just where we’re supposed to be.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.

  • oh i love this so much. i absolutely love that even though the challenge of bringing 4 small children across the country seems almost too daunting to do it, YOU DID IT. you live life so well. and i love you giving us a window into it. XO

  • These are beautiful photos. I absolutely love the capture of your oldest smiling brightly at your baby daughter. It reminds me of my brother and me, when I was the infant and he was 10 years old. What a special, wonderful relationship, and how very blessed to have loving siblings. There will be times you think they might injure each other, and then you’ll have these reassuring moments as well. Enjoy all of these years.

  • Hi Jessica!
I love reading your blog and seeing your kids (and family!) grow, so I nominated you for the Liebster Award (a blogger award) on my blog (http://lifethejapaneseway.wordpress.com/). I would be happy if you check it out and even participate. Sorry for sounding like spam too!! 🙁
    Cheers from Tokyo
